Antibiotics has no effect against the sore throat in 8 out of 10 cases. However, most people don’t know this, and still directly go for antibiotic solutions for sore throat when they have a cold, instead of effective symptom treatments such as Strepsils, which sadly contributes to a much bigger issue of modern society — antibiotic overuse.

Misusing antibiotics will only boost the resistance of bacterium. When antibiotics don’t work anymore, mundane objects would become lethal weapons, and a small scratch would suffice to kill. In this 2019 awareness campaign, we warned about a future of isolation and overprotection, urging people to use antibiotics only when necessary.

This is the first attempt from Strepsils to stand for a cause as a brand. And looking from the hindsight, we made a “social distancing” campaign before anyone could even predict the coming of COVID-19.
